APC National Leadership Denounces Amosun’s Faction Ahead LG Congress, Warns Against Erring

The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state on Friday outlawed the faction of the former governor Ibikunle Amosun’s faction of the party ahead of its local government congress.
The leadership said Amosun’s faction has no legal standing to conduct the local government congress slated for today, Saturday September 4th, 2021 since it is not recognised by the National Working Committee (NWC)of the party.
The declaration came hours after the faction inaugurated its executive and took the oath of office on Friday morning, day after the incumbent governor Dapo Abiodun’s faction conducted same exercise.
But the APC Local Government Congress committee while selecting the officials at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta to conduct the congress in all the 20 Local governments the state declared the Amosun’s faction null and void.
The seven-man Committee led by Wale Ohu said the party’s National Leadership frown at anybody who conducts parallel exercise apart from what it had been sent to do from Abuja.
Ohu said “Anything that is contrary to what we have said at this secretariat is null and void and is not known by the national leadership of the party. The party frowns seriously against anybody who conducts anything parallel to what we have been sent from Abuja to do.
“The part is up to deal with such person irrespective of status. Anything outside the approved list is null and void
Ohu told the selected officials to conduct the exercise in their respective local government according to the guidelines of the party.
“You are to go to your respective local government to conduct the exercises accordingly to the guidelines of the party and anything asides that is null and void.
Ohu pledged adequate security for the today’s exercise in all the local government.
The State’s party Chairman, Yemi Sanusi appealed to the officials to be fair, transparent and diligent in the conduct of the exercise and work in line with spelt out instruction.
