AU Appointment: Ogun Youths Place Demand On Obasanjo
The Ogun Youth Advocate for Social Development has charged former President Olusegun Obasanjo to use his new appointment as the UN’s High Representative for the Horn of Africa region to tackle security challenge in Nigeria.
The Chairman of the African Union, AU, Moussa Faki Mahamat, had on August 26 appointed the former President as his High Representative for the Horn of Africa region.
Oluseyi in the statement expressed confidence in Obasanjo, saying that the appointment will intensify engagements with all relevant political actors and stakeholders in Nigeria towards entrenching durable peace and stability within the nation.
Alamu described the appointment as well deserved and an opportunity to change the country’s insecurity narrative.
He said “I congratulate you on your well deserved appointment as African Union High Representative, Bàbá Mathew Òkìkíolá Àrèmú Olúségun Obásanjó, Balógun Òwu Ègbá, Ògbógbóñgbò, Ebora-Òwu.
“We want you to use this great opportunity to bring back the glory of our dear nation-Nigeria.
“With your new appointment, we hope the birds will sound like birds and the cat will sound as expected in Nigeria. We believe in your strength, OGYASD believes in you Baba Obasanjo.
“May God, in His infinite mercies, continually replenish your wisdom, and grant you good health required to deliver on your principle, convinction and commitment to betterment of humanity, to His glory.
