Oba Owolabi has over the years been known for his notorious activities of land grabbing and act of terrorizing residents especially owners of landed properties within his kingdom.
It would be recalled that in 2017 , the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights CDHR Ogun upon several complains of land grabbing and unlawful use of the Nigeria Police Force from Zone II and Abuja to invade the communities, arresting land owners and grabbing their lands before their return.

The groups said “the attention of the Paramount Ruler Oba (Dr).  “The CDHR  Ogun further led some of the victims of his oppressions to the Ogun State House of Assembly OGHA and  demanded the house come to the rescue of the victims, restore peace  in Obafe and direct immediate suspension of the Ajagungbale Kabiyesi. Unfortunately, detrimental politics was played when he appeared to have only been cautioned and later resumed his notorious activities
“We like to applaud the tenancity and  uncompromising stand of the House of Assembly in fighting against Land grabbing in Ogun State and making sure that no one is above the law. We shall remain in strong partnership with the house in the fight against repression and oppressions in our dear state.
“It would be recalled that both CDHR and HRGDS pressed for the enactment of the law and had since been sensitizing critical stakeholders including Traditional rulers and the entire People of Ogun State on the need to abide with the provisions of the law, for sustainable peace and security.
“We like to also lend our voice that the Kabiyesi be as a matter of urgency arrested and prosecuted, to serve as detterence to his allieds in the business of Land grabbing in Ogun State.
“A prompt action on the house of assembly resolution would reiterate the commitment of the Ogun State Government zero tolerance to Land grabbing activities”, the statement added.
