Defection: PDP chieftains defy rain to receive APC decampee, Akinlade
The Peoples Democratic Party Gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, Hon. Ladi Adebutu on Friday formerly received Adekunle Akinlade of the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the fold.
Adebutu received the Amosun godson alongside the Sikirulah Ogundele-led State Working Executive of the party at the PDP secretariat, Oke-Mosan despite the heavy rain fall.
Hundreds of party faithful also defied the rain to welcome Hon. Adekunle Akinlade and his loyalists into the party.
Akinlade was a Governorship aspirant on the platform of APC for the 2023 election but lost to the incumbent governor Dapo Abiodun who’s now the party flag bearer.
He was the former governor Amosun’s anointed candidate in the 2019 before deserting the party to form the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
There is speculation that Akinlade will serve as Ladi Adebutu running mate on the platform of PDP for the 2023 election
