Disobedience To Allah Responsible For Hunger In Nigeria – Cleric
... As Olu of Imasayi Urge Muslims to Show Compassion, Empathy

The Chief Imam of Ogbomosland, Dr Yunus Olusina Teliat, has attributed the problem of hunger in Nigeria to disobedience to the instructions of Almighty Allah.
Teliat said as long as Nigerians stick to their own ways and turn away from the way of God, the narrative of poverty and hunger will continue in the country.
The cleric disclosed this during a Ramandan lecture and award and empowerment ceremony organised by the Oba Lukman Adeleke Kuoye Dawah Foundation in Imasayi, Ogun state on Saturday.
Teliat who speake on the topic: “Navigating Food Insecurity In Nigeria: Economic Challenges And Sustainable Solutions During Ramadan, blamed Nigerian leaders for not effectively utilizing the resources that God has blessed the nation with.
According to the cleric, Nigerians must seek the face of God as well as return to farm for hunger to end in the country.
He said “It’s very obvious today in Nigeria that poverty is everywhere, and there are so many reasons responsible for this hunger. We have decided to sin against Allah, we’ve decided not to follow the instructions and the laid down rules of our creator who created us and that is why we find ourselves in this problem.
“For instance if we look at the country, Nigeria is blessed with so many mineral resources but the fact that our government has decided not to utilize these resources effectively for our use that is why we are having this problem.
“To solve this problem, every one of us should go back to the farm. Let’s go back to the farm. If you cultivate lands and plant crops, those crops would be of benefit not to you, the farmer alone but to every other person around you
Meanwhile, the Olu of Imasyi, Oba Lukman Olalekan Adeleke Kuoye, while speaking to newsmen at the event, called on Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan to reflect on their actions and strive to be better versions of themselves.
Oba Kuoye emphasised the importance of showing compassion, empathy, and kindness during the holy month. He urged Muslims to make a positive impact on their communities and the world at large.
The monarch also encouraged Muslims to use the opportunity of Ramadan to seek forgiveness, give charity, and strengthen their bond with Allah and with each other.
His words “As we gather in this holy month of Ramadan, let us remember the values of compassion, empathy, and kindness. Let us strive to make a positive impact on our communities and the world at large. May the blessings of Ramadan be upon all of us, In Shaa Allah.
“In the spirit of Ramadan, I urge us all to reflect on our actions and strive to be better versions of ourselves. Let us use this opportunity to seek forgiveness, give charity, and strengthen our bond with Allah and with each other”, he said.
