Don’t blame Tinubu for Nigeria’s misfortune – Ogun cleric cautions
The General Overseer of Dominion Bible Church International, Bishop Israel Olusegun Alaya has cautioned Nigerians against heaping blame on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the country’s unfortunate situation.
Bishop Olusegun sounded the caution while briefing newsmen on the church’s forthcoming convention; titled “Faith for Victory ” at the church auditorium in Agbeloba, Abeokuta on Friday.
The cleric mentioned leadership failure, corruption, poor political orientation amongst other ills as problems posing difficulties to Nigeria, saying that all Nigerians are guilty of them.
He stressed that Nigerians have poor orientation about leadership, hence they see the position as an avenue for looting money.
Bishop Olusegun argued, however, that Tinubu must not be blamed because he did not authorize the country’s problems.
According to him, the nation’s problem is beyond President Tinubu and until the country gets the issue of leadership right, the recurring ugly narratives will continue .
He said “If Nigeria were an organisation belonging to an individual, it would be well managed. I have seen Nigerians doing well in Europe, America and other countries. Look at Okonjo Iweala, Akinwunmi. Nigerians are employing the white people over there.
“The problem of Nigeria is leadership. Nigeria is blessed with everything except leaders and when I’m talking about leaders here, I’m not talking about Tinubu but all of us. Many people are vying for leadership positions but which university teaches leadership and yet we are creating positions. Leadership is not about position, position only gives us the opportunity to practice leadership.
The Bishop said, “Our culture has to change for Nigeria to get better. This a country where leaders share the money meant for the nation for their family and even the church still gives these leaders a lot of titles.The first thing about this nation is to get our culture right. Government should increase the salary of the workers not giving rice palliatives. The government cannot tell us to be sacrificing when they are not ready to do so.

5th, 23, disclosed that the programme will feature a book titled “Divine Direction”
