Elections: NSCDC to deploy Agro-Rangers, Counter-Terrorist, Female Squad, Others for peaceful conduct

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command said it has finalised plans for appropriate distribution of personnel towards a standard operation procedure and international best practices during the coming election.

Niyi L. Ajibola, during a staff retraining exercise for personnel towards credible, free and fair elections, held at the command’s secretariat on Friday disclosed that the corps is gearing up efforts to ensure adequate security across the State in conjunction with other security agencies.
Ajibola stated that the NSCDC in the state will not tolerate any form of criminality in all the nooks and crannies of the state before, during and after the election.

Speaking to Pressmen at the aftermath of the programme, Ajibola said “The State Command will be deploying all his tactical units for the exercise: the Female Squad; the Agro-Rangers, the Counter-Terrorist, Armed Squad, the Disaster Management Department and other sensitive units for the elections”, he noted.
The Commandant hinted that the NSCDS at the apex level has also trained personnel for professional conduct during the process.

He added, “In the same vein, the Corps at its apex level of decision making have consistently trained and retrained its personnel for professional conducts before, during and after the elections and these trainings are being cascaded down to the personnel at the various levels of commands: State, Area and Divisional Commands across the country and this is one of the reasons for our convergence again today”.
Ajibola noted that the Corps has a critical impact in every election, particularly that of safeguarding all national assets and infrastructure during the exercise.
“To be very precise the State Command is fully ready for the elections deploying our full capacity towards the success of the process here in Ogun State”, he added.
