Fuel Hike: Ogun Govt Approves Additional Day- Off For Public Servants

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved two days off duty in a week for Officers on Grade Level 01-14 while Officers on Grade level 15-17 are to maintain one (1) day off duty in a week.
This is to further provide succour for the teeming workforce of Ogun State in the light of the recently recorded increase in the pump price of petrol and its attendant impact on the cost of transportation and general standard of living,
A statement by the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, who described the Governor as highly committed to the welfare of workers said the gesture is aimed at further easing the burden on the teeming workers who now face more significant challenges commuting to work.
According to the Head of Service, this gesture is trusted to translate to a substantial relief while also enhancing Service delivery through a more motivated and energised workforce.
He urged all Accounting Officers to immediately implement this policy in their respective MDAs by working out modalities of ensuring that the day off system is scheduled in such a way that service delivery is not compromised.
According to the Head of Service, Governor Abiodun had in July 2023 introduced the one day off work policy for all Grade Levels and the current extension to 2 days off- work for GL. 01-14 is to further reduce the financial burden on workers and increase productivity.
