Ghana-based Institute honours Gov Abiodun’s Aide, Ifekayode With Doctorate Degree
A Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics in Ghana has conferred an honorary doctorate degree to the former consultant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Media, Mr. Ifekayode Akinbode, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to nation-building.
The honorary Doctorate was conferred on Akinbode by members of the institute in Abeokuta, the state capital on Monday.
Akinbode graduated from the Department of Mass Communication, Al-Hiqmah University, Ilorin and Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta and is a veteran media mogul who has worked in various media houses within the country.
The broadcast journalist is also an associate member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a Public Relations expert of over 25 years. He was appointed by Governor Abiodun in 2019.
During the investiture, the institute noted that the doctoral honour was conferred on Akinbode, having been considered for his incorruptible track records of excellent integrity in Nation Building.
The institute equally stressed that his outstanding resourcefulness, and exemplary security service delivery, qualified him for the honour.
According to the institute, Akinbode is a well-respected public figure, and his work has been featured in several media outlets.
“This institute greatly commend your indefatigable passion for unrivaled investigative journalism, Defence for the sanctity of lives & soaring economic growth of Nigeria, we also commend your multi-various empowerment support for the youths as an exemplary and patriotic Nation builder”, he institute noted.
In his acceptance speech, Akinbode thanked the institute for the honour, and pledged to continue his work in promoting good governance and public service excellence.
He said that he was humbled by the recognition, pledging to continue to work hard to live up to the expectations of the institute and the people.
Akinbode said “Indeed it’s an honour to me. This is a call that I should continue to do more in my area of calling, most especially integrity. Integrity is very key. I believe as an African, you must be a good ambassador of your background.”
