A Federal House of Assembly aspirant in Ogun state, Hon. Afeez Olawale Balogun on Thursday says the second term ambition of governor Dapo Abiodun supercedes his, hence, he would campaign massively for the governor.
According to the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency hopeful, Dapo Abiodun’s giant strides in the state cannot be compared with that of his predecessor, affirming that the administration has brought about economic development in the state.
Balogun who spoke to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital added that, since the swearing of Abiodun in 2019, the political history of Ogun state has been re-written.
He equally expressed assurance that the coming elections would go in favour of the governor even as he appealed residents of the state to reelect him (Abiodun) “for continuity sake”.
“I must confess, Governor Dapo Abiodun second term ambition supercedes my House of Representatives ambition. As far as I am concerned, we are nothing in Ogun APC without our able and energetic governor.
” The development we are witnessing in this state today is because governor Abiodun emerged in 2019 and we cannot deny that. Abiodun has performed more than his predecessors. For continuity sake, we must reelect him.
“If we are really concerned about the development of Ogun state, we have a responsibility of re-electing Abiodun. For development to continue to be a narrative in our dear state, Dapo Abiodun must repeat the class of governor”.
