INEC conducts mock accreditation ahead of elections

The mock accreditation exercise has been conducted across six local government areas of Ogun State, ahead of the 2023 general election as directed by National Headquarters of Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.

Abeokuta South, Abeokuta North, Ado,Odo/Ota, Ogun Waterside, Sagamu and Egbado South local governments were the selected council areas in the state.

The exercise witnessed relatively huge turnout of residents at ward one, unit three, centenary hall, Ake in Abeokuta South Local Government of the state.

The exercise which started around 8:30 in the morning was peaceful and seamless as residents were attended to, promptly with an average time per accreditation stands between a minute and a half.

The State’s Resident Electoral commissioner, Niyi Ijalaye accompanied by officials of the Nigerian Communications Commission team while monitoring the exercise expressed satisfaction as they promised technical support when need arises

IJALAYE noted that, the exercise was to test the efficacy of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in preparation for the Presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25.

One of the residents, Ibukun Abiodun expressed satisfaction at the performance of the Commission.
