Insecurity: Ogun Assembly Aspirants Akinlawon Suspends Birthday Celebration, Organises Prayer For Nigeria

A House of Assembly aspirant In Ogun State, Oluwafemi Akinlawon suspended his planned birthday celebration scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2025 to organise prayer for Nigeria amidst rising insecurity across the country.

Akinlawon who expressed worry over the current security situation in Nigeria, on Sunday said the situation calls for solemn affection rather than celebration.

The young politician who is bidding to represent Isokan State Constituency I argued that no reasonable person will choose to celebrate when his nation is mourning.

The Assembly aspirant noted that though president Bila Ahmed Tinubu is not resting on his oars to ensure that lasting peace is restored in the country, Nigerians must also do the needful to surmount this trying times.

“We can see that the country is not smiling. The chilling security situation is burning every part of the country and we cannot deny it. For this reason, I have decided to cancle my birthday celebration scheduled for Monday, 1, 2025.

“No leader will choose celebration when his followers are mourning and no reasonable Nigeria will can deny that this situation does not call for prayer. Wecannoonly call upon God to save us, that is mbelief and that is why I have decided to shun birthday celebration for prayer for Nigeria. I belive that this is the best way to give back to Nigeria this time.”

Akinlawon disclosed plan to gather friends and religious leaders to the prayer session which he said will be held on Monday December 1.

“Religious leaders, alongside family and friends will be gathering for the prater session. This is the time to interceed for our nation. This is the time to raise our lamenting to him for the deliverance of Nigeria.
