Kidnappers Demand N31m Ransom For Former FCE Osiele Provost

Gunmen who kidnapped the former Provost of Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta Dr Ayodele Ajayi around Olodo village, along the Abeokuta-Ibadan road on Tuesday, have demanded N31 million ransom according to source.
The former provost was traveling with his wife and driver when he was abducted alongside the driver while the wife was allowed to go.
A resident of the area who spoke under the condition of anonymity said, the gunmen came out of the bush to attack Ajayi and other motorists along the road.
A source close to the family of the victim told our reporter that Ajayi personally called his family on Wednesday, saying that his abductors were demanding N31m ransom to release him and his driver.
The source while quoting Ajayi stressed that the kidnappers initially demanded N100,000.000 ransom and later reduced it to N70,000000 but finally reduced it to N31 m after much plea by the victim.
The source also quoted Ajayi saying that kidnappers had been treating them (vitims) fairly, threatening to eliminate the victims if action is not expedited before the close of today (Wednesday) .
“Dr Ajayi called and said the kidnappers demanded N31,000 000. He said they initially demanded N100,000 000 ransom but later reduced it to N70,000 000 but after much pleading, they decided to take the former amount. He said the kidnappers threatened to kill them if no action is taken”, said the source.
