The terrorists, using high explosives and guns, breached the facility, leading to the escape of over 800 of the 994 inmates on Tuesday night.

OGYASD President, Comrade Oluseyi Alamu in the statement called for deployment of security operatives, including the AMOTEKUN and the local Vigilante in attack prone areas as a proactive measure against impending attack on Ogun residents.

He argued that if the Federal Capital Territory could no longer be a safe heaven for Nigerians despite being the seat of power, no other state in the nation is safe.

Alamu regretted that the nation has fast been saturated by different terrorist groups while the military strength is weakened.

He stressed that villages and schools in the state also needs security operatives on standby everyday, adding people those places are vulnerable.

His words “OGYASD is worried about the recent attack on Kuje Prison in Abuja by Boko Haram terrorists. It’s a sad day for all of us. If this dreaded group is not afraid of the seat of power, then, they can invade anywhere in Nigeria.

” This is why we are calling on governor Dapo Abiodun to step up efforts in protecting the lives of Ogun residents. The governor should deploy security operatives, especial the AMOTEKUN and the local Vigilante to attack prone areas in the state.

” Nigeria as been saturated by the these terrorists and this is more reason the governor should take the security of the state seriously.”

Alamu commended the governor for fighting kidnappings, cultism and other criminal acts in the state since his emergence as the governor.
