Man drowns in well while trying to retrieve phone in Ogun
A 31-year-old man, Sunday Jimoh, drowned in a well beside his shop in the Laditan area of Oja-Odan, Ogun State, while attempting to retrieve a phone that had fallen inside.
The incident occurred barely 24 hours after a 19-year-old boy drowned in an abandoned quarry pool in Odeda Local Government Area while swimming with friends.
A witness, Kabiru Aladeshayi Ayigbere, a resident of Junction Area, Oja-Odan, told the police that he saw Jimoh attempting to enter the well despite repeated warnings about the danger. However, Jimoh insisted on retrieving his phone and eventually drowned.
