Nigeria Unity Only Compensation For Fallen Heroe, Says Gov Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has emphasized that ensuring Nigeria remains an indivisible entity is the best way to compensate for the sacrifices of the nation’s fallen heroes.
Speaking at the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Arcade Ground in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Wednesday, Abiodun stressed that ensuring Nigeria’s unity is a fitting tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation.
“The least we can do is to remember all those who have given their lives as a sacrifice to protect our dear nation from either external or internal conflicts. We not only remember them for paying the supreme price, but we also remember those they left behind, their widows and widowers.
“These are the people who have gone far beyond to do things that many of us will not ever want to do. We must also do everything to ensure that Nigeria remains an indivisible entity.”
Abiodun noted that the event served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s military personnel and the debt of gratitude owed to them.
He equally noted the importance of not forgetting the families left behind by these gallant soldiers and their selfless contributions to safeguarding the country.
“We must not remember them just one day a year, but we must take time out to remember them in our own little way every day. We should show them love, identify them, and provide some of what they need just to show that we care about them.
“These are the people who have gone far beyond to do things that many of us will not ever want to do. We must also do everything to ensure that Nigeria remains an indivisible entity. That is another way we can show them love and appreciation that all their sacrifices will not be in vain.
Meanwhile, Governor Abiodun has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to honoring the sacrifices of Nigerian Army officers and other fallen heroes.
He has also promised to alleviate the suffering of the relations of fallen soldiers who lost their lives to keep Nigeria united.
