Ogun Education Commissioner Arigbabu Honoured as Life Diplomatic Ambassador by NSCPC

The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, has been conferred with the honour of life diplomatic ambassador by the National School Crime Prevention Corps (NSCPC) in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The corps said Professor Arigbabu was selected for the honour in recognition of his outstanding performance as education commissioner and his significant contributions to the advancement of the education sector in Ogun State.

In a statement made available to newsmen, the Commandant-General of NSCPC, Dr Fola Ige, noted that the erudite professor had, through his office, contributed meaningfully to the actualisation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which focuses on quality education through inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all by 2030.

He added that the commissioner’s efforts also align with SDG 16, which promotes peace, justice and strong institutions by addressing issues of violence, corruption and human rights as part of the United Nations 2030 agenda for a better world.

Dr Ige described the nscpc as proactive in its approach to school safety, stressing that the corps remains relevant in implementing programmes that enhance a conducive learning environment in schools.

He further stated that the NSCPC’s team remains committed to its selfless peace-building efforts in schools, adding that Ogun State served as the birthplace of the organisation’s operational activities, which have since expanded to other states across the federation.

The Commandant-General said “The National School Crime Prevention Corps is a civil-oriented organization dedicated to preventing crime, violence, and social vices within and around schools in Nigeria. It promotes peace, security, and moral reorientation for students, working in alignment with global peacebuilding frameworks.

‘Under the leadership of Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, the Ministry is at the forefront of implementing the “Building Our Future Together” agenda of Governor Dapo Abiodun, focusing on accessible, qualitative, and functional education for all.”
