Speaking with Journalists at the flag off ceremony, the Deputy Chief Whip announced that the Senator Representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Daniel will commence the construction of the other phase of the road as soon as possible.

While lamenting the deplorable state of the Oko-Ada road, which is one of the major roads in her Constituency, Onanuga hinted that the construction will revive the economic viability of the road, which according to her is dead due to the current condition.

She  also regretted the international market along the road, which according to her is supposed to contribute to the economic prosperity of the state stop functioning due to the bad nature of  road.

Her words “This road leads to Shimawa and then to the Lagos -Ibadan express road. Along the road on both sides, there are Agrarian communities so when they go to the farm and harvest that they don’t have the good road to bring their harvest to the market and most of their produce are perishable items.

“Because with this road there would be more income and all this we are hungry for will be at least reduced. And  it has a great economic advantage for the people”, she added.

“It’s a 22 kilometer road and it’s not a road that can be done in one phase so we are going to do it in phases, as much as we have we would put it in the road. But we want to believe that we would be able to do the considerable length because the senator is also starting from the end of the road and we are hoping that we would meet halfway or at least a considerable length”, she added.

The Director of the construction company in charge of the road project, Gedion Osy, the features on the road include drainages and bumps to prevent over speeding.

He assured that his company will beat the timeline as the road will be completed in three months.

Also, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, while applauding Onanuga for the project,  noted that the construction would in turn bring development to the area.

“We appreciate Hon. Ijaya for her effort in bringing development to this constituency. I want to say that this project will bring development to Sagamu and Simawa.”
