Ogun gov election, a reflection of Dapo Abiodun’s criminally inclined government – Adebutu

… Vows to challenge outcome in court
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in the Saturday’s election in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu has described the just concluded process as a reflection of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ‘criminally inclined government’.
Adebutu made the argument while faulting the outcome of the election during a Press conference in Abeokuta on Monday, vowing to challenge the result before the court of law.
He alleged that the election recorded inflation of votes for the APC in most of the polling units across the state.
Adebutu who dared Governor Abiodun to celebrate his ‘acclaimed win,’ stated that the findings by the PDP shows that the scores were inflated by 1,000 to 4,000 votes in favour of APC in some polling units.
He further alleged that a House of Representatives – elect of the APC was spotted with a ballot box which he later presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials and insisted that the votes be added for his party , APC.
According to Adebutu , PDP won in most of the 20 local governments of that state but was rigged by the ruling APC in conjunction with INEC.
He however insisted that the PDP would proceed to forensic findings as soon as the party gets court order.
He said “This is not a margin of a hundred thousand that we will be chasing and chasing. I dare them to celebrate. We have found 10,000 there already, we have found 4,000 in Ogijo.
“These people didn’t have half of the votes that were published for them. After this auditing, we are still going to do forensic when we get the court order.
“Dapo Abiodun’s government is criminally inclined and that is how he has been running his government. What he did on Saturday was about 30 to 40 bikes with young men with guns roaming the streets, attacking polling units. The Impunity was so much. This people dressed like DSS
Adebutu added “Their House of Representatives elect was also seen with a ballot box which he was presenting to the INEC officials and insisting that the votes in the box be counted”.
Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the Party, Kayode Bamgbose, alleged INEC of conniving with the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Bamgbose further alleged that security operatives including army and the police provided cover as hoodlums destroyed sensitive and non-sensitive materials in about 100 polling units.
He also argued that the destruction and use of state power to manipulate the electoral process happened in strongholds of the Party.
