Ogun LG Elections: Hon. Akamo Decalres Intention

To reposition government at the local government level, one of the committed sons of the soil, Hon. Sunday Oluwagbenga Akamo has declared his intention to contest for Abeokuta South local government chairmanship election after all due consultations across the length and breadth of Abeokuta South Local Government of Ogun state.

The people’s man while declaring his intention at the APC LG party secretariat, Ijaye Oja Ale said his ambition to contest for the chairmanship is borne out of the desire to restore the glory of her people by entrenching functional and sustainable systems and institutions in Abeokuta South local government.

He continued, “It is with great delight that I make known to you my intentions after all due consultations, across the length and breadth of Abeokuta South Local Government that I’m aspiring to contest for the chairmanship of the local government”.

“Today, Abeokuta South is losing its pride of place. Our people go through untold hardship caused by their dwindling standard of living. I am poised to reposition our great land, restoring the glory of her people and the beauty of her essence”

“As a man who is committed to the development and welfare of my people, I will entrench functional and sustainable systems and institutions in the Local Government”.

“I am avowing this aspiration because It is an era of political reawakening and emancipation, a dispensation that will usher in a paradigm shift from the traditional political template towards a service-oriented system”.

“If elected, I will form a formidable team of the best brains from our land and together we will run an administration that will ensure the security of the lives and properties of our people, ensure social justice, equity, and wage war against poverty by providing jobs and skills acquisition for our teeming youths”.

“We will run an open door, efficient, effective, transparent, and accountable administration. I am optimistic that if given this mandate, the good people of Abeokuta South Local Government will heave a sigh of relief being assured that a competent hand serves the land”.

“My administration, given the mandate, will also focus on developing a more robust and effective basic education by pushing for accelerated educational and healthcare reforms to build our human capital.

Hon. Sunday Akamo reiterated his commitment to boosting the local economy and creating various opportunities for the good people of the land stating that young people remain the bedrock of economic growth and prosperity, as well as harness the potential of the youth through empowerment programs and make them agents of development.
