Ogun Non-indigenes Call On Members To Shun Protest

The Association of Non-Indegines in Ogun has called on all it’s members to shun the nationwide protest scheduled to start on the first of August, 2024.

This statement was made today by the President of the Association in a press release from his office at Sagamu in Ogun State.

The President of Association of Non Indigenes Resident in Ogun State, Alhaji Inuwa Garba, who also doubles as the Sariki Hausawa of Sagamu has called on all the Non Indigenes Resident in Ogun State to shun any violent protest, especially the planned nationwide protest scheduled to start from August 1st -10th.

In his release, he however acknowledged that hunger, high cost of living and unprecedented youth unemployment pervade the nation but advised the planners of the nationwide protest to embrace dialogue.

He charged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to expedite actions on policies that will ameliorate the sufferings of the masses.

He used the opportunity to appeal to the police and other law enforcement agencies to provide adequate security for the Non Indigenes against any form of violent attack on their persons, properties and businesses within the state during the protest.

Regarding rumours in some quarters that the non-Indegine youths are behind the protest, the President debunked the rumours.

“We are very peaceful residents within our host community and that the leadership of Association of Non Indigenes Resident in Ogun State, will ensure total control of their members at large against every form of violent protest”

He applauded the governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his landmark achievements so far and his efforts at making the state conducive for peaceful co- existence.
