Ogun NUJ Endorses Former Chairman, Skunbi For National Deputy President

ABEOKUTA– The Ogun state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has endorsed one of its leaders, Comrade Wole Sokunbi for the National Deputy President position in the forthcoming National Convention of the Union.
Comrade Wole Sokunbi, a two termed former Secretary and Chairman of the Ogun state council was presented his nomination form at the council’s Secretariat, Iwe Iroyin on Wednesday by the council chairman, Comrade Wale Olarenwaju.
Speaking at the short ceremony, the council chairman describe comrade Sokunbi as a worthy leader on whose shoulder many leaders of the council have leaned on in the past.
He lauded his contributions towards his emergence as the council chairman, saying that it is time for the council to pay back his good deeds with its full supports.
“This is a pay back time to repay our candidate for the post of Deputy National President.
“The Ogun council will give total support in campaigning for the candidate and also support financially. We believe that the candidate is competent and vast with union activities with his experience which he had displayed as Ogun council Secretary and Chairman”, he said
While congratulating the candidate, he urged him to campaign on issues during campaign period.
In his remark, Comrade Sokunbi appreciated the council’s boss for the confidence repose in him to represent Ogun state, and the South West at the national level, promising not to disappoint.
He however called for the unity of the region going into the national convention, saying that the opportunity as provided by his representation at the national level should not be mortgage out of discoded tones.
