Ogun Police Arrest Eight Secondary Students For Alleged Cult Activities, Extorting Fellow Students
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested eight students of Ifo High School, in Ifo Local Government of the state for allegedly engaging in cult activities within the school premises.
The arrest was carried out by the Divisional Police Officer in Ifo, in collaboration with the authorities of the school.
The students who are between the ages of 15 and 16, were arrested on Friday after the school’s Vice Principal, Alako Oluwole, and a teacher reported the activities of the students at the police station.
The students were also accused of perpetuating disturbances and extorting valuables from fellow students.
The suspects included 16 years old, Omolaso Waris, 15 years, old Bennett Bolawatife, 15 years, Aluko Taiwo, 16 years old Akinola Ifeoluwa, 16 years old Azeez Hassan, 16 years old Kilani Babatunde (aka Soldier).
Others are; 15 years old Kehinde Aluko, and 16 years Fasedemi Samuel.
According to the Spokesperson of the Command, Omolola Odutola in a statement on Saturday, Preliminary investigations revealed that the students are members of the Future Guys (F.T.G.) cult group and were allegedly initiated by two senior students, Ebenezer Ope and Ebenezer Tobi.
Odutola states that the Police have commenced a thorough investigation to determine the extent of cult activities in the school and prevent further occurrences.
She stressed that the students will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department upon the conclusion of the preliminary investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police has directed that the students be brought before him on the next working day for further interviews where other referrals for counselling and mentoring will be organized .
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, further reiterated his commitment to maintaining law and order in Ogun State and urges parents, teachers, and community leaders to collaborate in eradicating cultism from schools”, she added.
