“Recent events in Paris highlighted the need for improvement. Unfortunately, able-bodied athletes failed to win any medals. We recognize the potential of sports development and are committed to supporting initiatives, particularly for physically challenged athletes,” Mr. Odulaja stated.

Describing sports development as a collective venture, Mr. Odulaja reiterated FATGBEMS’ determination to prioritize sports. Beyond petroleum products marketing, the company is also involved in logistics and is diversifying into agriculture, specifically cashew processing, to contribute to the national economy and build capacity.

“We are not just limited to petroleum products; we also engage in logistics, moving goods across the country. Our agricultural ventures will enhance the nation’s economy,” Mr. Odulaja noted.

Furthermore, Mr. Odulaja announced FATGBEMS’ intention to partner with associations like the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) to promote grassroots sports development.

The Lotus Bank Abeokuta 10-kilometer race served as a platform for FATGBEMS to demonstrate its commitment to rewarding excellence and supporting athletes, particularly those with physical challenges.

With its multifaceted approach, FATGBEMS is poised to make a significant impact on Nigeria’s sports landscape.
