Why Ogun remains poor despite huge IGR-Ladi Adebutu

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the party’s Governorship candidate in Ogun state in the last election, Ladi Adebutu has said that consistent borrowing by the APC administration keeps the state in a state of poverty.
Adebutu disclosed this while addressing hundreds of party faithful at the PDP secretariat in Abeokuta, the state capital on Tuesday.
The PDP bigwig regretted that the state cannot be mentioned amongst the top- three in terms of comfort despite its multiple revenue sources.
Adebutu also regretted that the state is amongst the poorest state in Nigeria due to its debt profile.
His words “Ogun state is one state is so dear to God. This state is supposed to be among top three in Nigeria in terms of comfort but we are one of the poorest state today because we keep on borrowing.
Adebutu reiterated that discord no longer reign in the state’s chapter of PDP, adding that all aggrieved members have united and ready to work towards common goal of taking the state for PDP.
“They said that our party is dead, but PDP is alive. We have structure in every ward in Ogun state. We have structure in every pooling unit too.
