Yewa South LG Boss Lauds Gov Abiodun On Provision Of Educational Infrastructure
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has been commended for his stride on provision of adequate educational infrastructure across the State.
The Chairman of Yewa South Local Government in Ogun West region of the State, Hon. Lateef Salami gave the commendation during the grand finale of inter-school competition tagged “mind bending challenge” organized by Yewa South Local Government Education Authority held at Yewa college in Ilaro.
The Chairman who lauded the Governor for his huge investment, towards the ‘’Yellow roof’’ infrastructure, prompt payment of teachers’ salaries and promotion of teachers across the board in the State, assured that his administration would not relent at giving adequate support to education especially at primary level across the local government.
He assured that his government would continue to provide conducive environment that would enhance good academic performance of students across the local government and its environs.
On his own, the Yewa South Local Government Education Secretary, Prince Olaleye Oluwarotimi, while appreciating the Governor’s stride on education, appealed for employment of more teachers especially in the rural areas, pointing that shortage of teachers was taking its tolls on the existing ones.
The Head of Department, Academic and Social Services, in the local government, Mrs. Adetutu Adeyemi who encouraged teachers in the area to be more dedicated and keep on the good work pointed out that the inter school competition was organized to further improve the academic knowledge of the students while charging them to always be focused and committed to their studies.
The competition which featured words puzzle, atlas reading, word formation, anagram, mathematical operations, dictionary drills,, Yoruba knowledge and exhibition, saw U.A.M.C Primary School, Ilaro emerges first (1st) with 62.5 percent; Christ Church Primary School, Ilaro second (2nd) with 57.5 percent, while St Pauls Primary School 3, Owode came third (3rd) with 54.5 percent.
